OPERATION:
SILENT TORCH

Freedom Comes at a Price.

On June 6, 1944 200 newly minted US commandos were at the tip of the spear to breach Hitler’s Atlantic Wall. But before the  Rangers  scaled the cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc they underwent the most vigorous training the US military had ever seen. Learning to scale sheer cliffs, hand to hand combat, and operating behind enemy lines- these first of America’s Special Operation Forces became deadly weapons  against the oppressors of Europe.

Operation: Silent Torch  honors their sacrifice.

General Schedule

This one day event goes from 0730 (7:30 am) to 2100 (9:00 pm) Saturday. You’ll be instructed in several courses, including the following:

Tenets of Leadership: Develop your understanding of Biblical masculine leadership.

Mountaineering: Scale the cliffs*

Tactical Combat Casualty Care: This won’t be your average first aid class.

Waterborne Ops: Learn small boat tactics of the Rangers still in use today, water survival, and beach assault.

Ranger Run: Between throwing hand grenades and clearing obstacles- our Triarii will put you through a physical grinder similar to that of a WWII era Ranger.

NOTE: This is a one day event. We start early & run all day. If you would like to stay outdoors longer than a day, we will provide participants with details on camping accommodations before and after our event.

*Weather permitting. Alternate instructional periods are planned in the event of unfavorable conditions.

Physical Fitness

You don’t need to be a “super-athlete” to successfully complete the course. Men complete our courses from a spectrum of physical abilities: triathletes to couch potatoes to men over 40.  If you man up, show up, and give us your best effort we won’t leave you behind. That being said, your life will be much easier if you can meet these suggested metrics:

Push-Ups: 40 reps in two minutes

Sit-Ups: 45 reps in two minutes

1.5 Mile Run: 13:30 minutes

3 Mile Ruck: (45 lbs) 50:00 minutes

Not there yet? We recommend Stew Smith, former Navy SEAL and his military fitness plans  that offer a practical start for those looking to get in shape for our events. Start here.

Advance Warning

No one said becoming a warrior was easy. So here’s a disclaimer:

IN ORDER TO ATTEND THIS EVENT YOU MUST BE 18+ & A UNITED STATES CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT

This training is designed to closely replicate a military environment and will be demanding physically, emotionally and intellectually. The course requires attention to detail, failure in this could result in a fair amount of sweat leaving your body. You should be prepared to walk through the wild up to five miles with equipment. You will experience high levels of stress and fatigue which you will be expected to manage successfully. The training will be a mix of lectured subject matter accompanied by hands-on training.

The training involves inherently dangerous, and potentially life-threatening activities. We have put safety measures in place; however, you should not attend if you are currently ill; have head, neck, or back injuries; heart disease; or are unable to travel through the woods on foot. Please judge your physical fitness level accordingly.

You don’t need to be a member of the military to succeed during this weekend. We will teach all skills necessary.
